Polipropilen, otomotiv sanayinde kullanılan parçalardan, tekstil ve yiyecek paketlemesine kadar çok geniş kullanım alanı termoplastik bir polimerdir. Monomer propilenin polimer hale getirilmesi ile elde edilen polipropilen kimyasal solventlere (asit ve bazlar) karşı aşırı derecede dirençlidir.
